Smt. Rajalakshmi is a highly sought after and respected teacher and has always enjoyed a very special stature as a violin teacher. She also teaches Veena and vocal music. Her own daughter Jayanthi Kumaresh, who is a highly accomplished Vainika today began her lessons with Smt. Rajalakshmi before moving on to Smt. Padmavathy Anantagopalan. Smt. Rajalakshmi has trained numerous students both privately and in cultural organisations like the Bangalore Tamil Sangam, Sangeeta Bharathi etc. She conducted a summer course on violin at the Venkateswara Temple in Pittsburgh, USA from June to September 1998 which was very well attended and appreciated. She has also conducted advanced classes in violin for overseas students during their visits to India. Many of her students have blossomed into performing artistes as well as graded artistes at the All India Radio and Television. Some of her students who have migrated to places like United States, Australia, and Germany also perform and have established their own music schools there. Her students love her as an ever warm and affectionate Guru and a teacher-par-excellence.
